... do you wear ear protection during training? Even shooting my buddy's .243 is LOUD as FUCK, I can't imagine a full auto .308.

Well yeah, according to the Norwegian Army rules and regulations we are imposed to use both earmuffs and earplugs, but the muffs gets easily "forgotten" back at the camp. It gets so fucking narrow between the head and the helmet.

But most of the riffles we use are designed to send the sound to the sides and not backwards, so you can hear your neighbor louder than yourself. So if you get the MG next to you, your ears are pretty fucked.
