AG3 F2 by kellebass AG3 F2 by kellebass
Many of you were curious about the weapons used in my
earlier Daily Deviation. Here is a closer look on what it looks
like.

It's a modified G3 as you can see. It still uses 7.62mm rounds
as the old G3. Rail with mounted optical sight (AimPoint) and
a vertical grip as well as an adjustable back stock.

This one is just so much more fun than our HK416's.

Just purchased one of those babies myself. Though mine doesn't have the 18" barrel or the gadgets, it's a wonderful gun! Nice presentation!

An excellent set-up, two questions. Can we use this in HKFirearms' gallery, and which military are you with? (if any)

Thanks. Hmm...I never knew the Norwegians used a G3-style weapon in their army... Always learning! Cheers!

Republic decided to get their own G3 modern generation
It will be delivered to troops this year. Our generals tried HK416
but our nation and enemy more like ranged skirmishes at mountains than urban
416 not effective.20 rounds of raw power of G3 nothing beats that.
I was wondering what kinda idology proven a modern g3 now
I understand there was such weapon.
Our design not look like G3 anymore
M16 gas piston system HK417 stock and rails combined with some Boron outershell
Tho Turkey cant deploy weapons like F2000 or G36 1.100 000 man on active service
4 000 000 at reserve nation would bankcrupt if we ordered that many modern rifle

Is this used by the Norwegian special forces, standard issue?

Not any more. It was though. Now it uses HK416 (M416) and G36 for assault, and the MP7 for CQB.

I wish we had this version instead of the standard G3 :(
Mainly because of the aimpoint. In my view it was much easier to hit with the aimpoint (G36) than with the iron sights (G3)

Oh its two different worlds! Yeah this thing was a hellraiser.
Though it weighs over 6 kilos for this madness. It gets kinda heavy compared to the G36
and HK416 as we also use.

G3 FOREVER !!! Glad to meet that old iron again. You are lucky, this good piece of metal were far superior to the FAL, the FAMAS or the M16 and much less noisy than the AK74 being rugged as him. But I do not know how is it compared with the last generation of assault riffles.

I did not knew that the 7.62 was still in service.

7.62 is not the NATO standard today. That's 5.56 as in the rifles you mentioned.
I love the G3. Very reliable in almost any situation.

This model is comparable with most new assault rifle though the rough caliber.
The recoil and the long barrel is the only thing negative with this one.
But this is one hell of a good rifle, no doubt.

Yeah ! I know... but it was the standard in my time. A G3 shared my Life during almost 11 months, far away from my country. And believe me, once you have used, your learn how to appreciate it. It requires a minimum maintenance, and is superb in single shoot as well as burst fire, even recoil is harder as you say. I think that accuracy should be also higher, when shooting at long distances. As far Ive never fired any 5.56. When this new caliber was adopted in NATO, many people disliked it. The 5.56 bullet is a bastard. The 7.62 has energy enough to trespass bodies, but the 5.56 simply breaks when crash with anything harder than cartilage, and it remains inside... in small pieces.
^_^ . Thanks for your photos ! I am glad that your officer let you carry the camera !

Yeah I dislike the 5.56 too. Such inhumane ammunition. Like you said it remains inside the body in hundreds of pieces.
The 7.62 goes right through in most cases.

The only thing I like with our new rifles is the weight. This AG3 F2 weighing 5.7 kilos whilst HK416 weighs 3.3 kilos. That's a remarkable difference.

Oh well.. I can't hold on to the G3 forever, but I'll do as long as I possibly can XD
